I'm attempting to call a scoped Service inside of an IHostedService to run a background task that interacts with the database. Basically it is telling me my scoped service is not a registered service.

This is the line I'm using to register the Service from Startup.cs

services.AddScoped<IIdeaService, IdeaService>();

This is the implementation of that Service in my Hosted Service

using (var scope = _serviceScopeFactory.CreateScope())

 var scopedIdeaService = scope.ServiceProvider.GetRequiredService<IdeaService>();

 foreach (var idea in ideaList.Ideas)
 
 var exists = await scopedIdeaService.GetIdeaByIdAsync(idea.IdeaId);

 var updatedIdea = AddIdeaDataForDatabase(idea, exists);

 if (exists == null)
 
 await scopedIdeaService.CreateIdeaAsync(await updatedIdea);
 
 else
 
 await scopedIdeaService.UpdateIdeaAsync(await updatedIdea);
 
 

The exact error i'm receiving is:

I'm trying to understand if I'm registering my service incorrectly or if I'm declaring the scope incorrectly. It is entirely possible I just don't know what I'm doing also. Suggestions would be appreciated.
